) ridiculing "un-German and unhealthy" art by Jewish and modern painters and sculptors. The exhibition was first shown in Munich, Germany from 19 July to 30 November 1937;

The guide or catalogue, however, was published in Berlin (
1937
), ready as a visitor's companion when the art was on display in the
Berliner Kunsthalle
from 26 February to 8 May. The exhibition kept on touring several cities until 1941. The sculpture in the cover photo is "Der neue Mensch" ("L'Homme nouveau") made by
Otto Freundlich
